Here is an example of a project where our client needed more than just a kitchen fitting.
Alison and Chris had refurbished their entire house and the kitchen was the last room to do. They wanted to increase the size of it by knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create a modern, light kitchen diner. The slide show illustrates the amount of work involved and how are kitchen fitters managed the project through to completion.
Gas / Plumbing
Building work including structural
If you are looking for one company to design, supply and install your new kitchen and want to avoid the stress of managing builders electricians, plasterers and plumbers then our full installation service might interest you. Our kitchen fitters are fully qualified to undertake and certify any gas and electrical work and have long standing relationships with other trades who they will manage on site as required leaving you to get on with your day to day life..
Fully fitted kitchens generally take anywhere from between 2 to 4 weeks on site depending on the amount of work required. The process starts with the design followed up by a site visit from the installer to check the plan and measurements. They will discuss all aspects of the job with you and then put together a schedule of work so you have a full understanding of what is going to happen during your installation.
Because the wall was integral to the structure of the house calculations put together by an engineer were used to determine the size of the steel used to support the rooms above the kitchen diner.
The wall was knocked down and temporary supports used whilst the steel was put in place. Whilst the ceiling joists were exposed new wiring for zoned spotlights was run together with a new ring main for the appliances. The new ceiling was put up and then the new, bigger room was fully plastered.
The next stage for our kitchen fitters was to begin the installation of the kitchen. You can see in the images that each night the site was left clean and tidy. Once the cabinets were fitted the new appliances were installed and tested, LED lighting run under the wall cabinets and the sink, washing machine and dishwasher plumbed in. The room was also redecorated whilst this was going on. A new tiled floor was then laid and the plinths fitted. The transformation from two rooms to one light, bright kitchen diner took 5 weeks.
Managing a project like this is not straightforward so if you need a kitchen fitting in London or Kent contact us to discuss your project.
